SPONSORSHIP
Adopt a Student
Help put a computer — and real technical support — in the hands of a student.
A SPECIAL REQUEST
Escuela de Amor, IMA has asked for 12 computers and a printer
This is a special request, separate from our regular program. The school came to us for twelve computers and a printer for their students, and we are raising the full cost of filling it. Each computer is $200 — sourcing it, refurbishing it, and getting it to Guatemala. The printer is $400.
12 computers · $200 each
1 printer · $400
$100 raised of $2,800 toward twelve computers and a printer for Escuela de Amor, IMA.
Each square is one machine. It fills as the money for it comes in.
Why students need computers
University coursework, research, online classes, job applications, and professional skill-building all assume reliable access to a computer. Many students have the motivation but not the machine.
How sponsorship works
- You choose to contribute toward a computer for a student.
- Your contribution goes toward acquiring, preparing, and delivering a device.
- The student receives the computer and ongoing technical support.
- We share updates on the program’s impact.
Privacy comes first
We never publish home addresses, personal phone numbers, personal email addresses, government IDs, or financial information. No real person’s story or photograph is published without their permission.
What adopting a student means
$200 covers a refurbished laptop and getting it to Guatemala. The computer is lent, not given — around six months, extendable — so that when a student no longer needs it, it can be serviced and go to someone else.
1
A student asks
They apply through the form on this site, in Spanish, and tell us what they need it for.
2
We prepare a machine
We source a laptop, wipe it, set it up, and confirm it works before it goes anywhere near a student.
3
Your $200 funds it
Your gift covers the computer and the cost of getting it to Guatemala.
Individual student requests open soon
When applications open we will list requests here, one card per student — what they are studying, what they need a computer for, and how close it is to being covered. No names and no photographs unless a student asks for them. Until then, the request above from Escuela de Amor, IMA is the live one.
What happens after a student receives a computer
The relationship doesn’t end at delivery. Recipients can reach us for setup help, troubleshooting, software questions, and updates. When the computer is no longer needed, it returns to the program and is prepared for someone else.
